Paralympic facts

Today's lockdown task was to put 5 facts about the paralympics into a template.

I chose these facts because they are about people in our home country New Zealand.

I found finding basic facts to put in tricky.

Bottle fizz experiment

For week five in lockdown we had a task to do.

it was to do an experiment with a bottle, some vinegar, a balloon and baking soda.

First we had to pour some vinegar into the bottle.

Next we had to pour the baking soda in the balloon.

we chose to heat the vinegar and poured it in the bottle.

after that we tipped the baking soda in and it fizzed up.

the baking soda goes into the vinegar and fizzes up the gas and fills the balloon.

Minecraft cat island

For lockdown the class got a task to make a minecraft zoo or a animal shelter.

I named mine cat island because I spawned lots of cats.

I made a little white house next to the other island and connected a cat shelter with red carpets to it.

I also made it one whole island with a tree house with no leaves and a small boat harbour.

here is a birds eye view of cat island with some photos of the inside.

Problem solving robot

This week we were reading about robots. we had to design a robot to solve a problem. A big problem I have is cleaning my room.

I made a droid called RCD 4 (Room Cleaning Droid)

I found making the droid and getting the right shape tricky.

Bees writing

For week three we had to write a report about bees. with the classification, description, location, habitat and dynamics. Enjoy!

     Bees

Bees are in the family of apidae, with wasps and ants. Apis and bombus are the two groups in apidae. Apis stands for honeybees, wasps and ants. Bombus stands for the bumblebees.

Bumblebees are fuzzy with black and yellow fur. They have six short legs and small little wings. They bite instead of stinging. Honeybees are smaller and have the same details, except less hair and a pocket of venom attached to a stinger.

Bees live in orchids, woodlands, meadows and places where there are flowers. Their hives are in tree cavities and bumblebees live in holes.

People keep using bug spray and are killing the bees which we need to pollinate fruit and vegetables. Without bees there will be no food.
