Matariki on scratch
For Matariki we made a scratch project about someone going to the stars of Matariki and asking what their name is.
At the bottom is my scratch project.
I found coding the steps to the right place tricky.
the game will only work once because when the dog glides to the star it won't go back to the start. Press the space key when the background changes.

ANZAC post card
For anzac day we made a post card of someone in our family. It had to be like we were in the war time. I made my post card for my Grandpa. The little blue box in the corner is a stamp.

Samoan Tatau
When Koka Kalo was here she would take green geckos which was my group and do a task with us.
Our task for Samoan language week was to find the meanings for the Samoan tatau and draw the pictures.
I have taken a photo of my drawings of the tatau.
I found getting the shapes the right size tricky.
Do you know the meanings of the Samoan tatau?

The fresh island
For writing we wrote a piece of writing with the five senses. See, hear, smell, feel, and taste.
I added descriptive words for the piece of writing.
There is a title saying “the fresh island”
I found trying to not put “I can” tricky.
Have you written something like this before?
The fresh island
As I swim through the water I smell the salty water in front of me.
A pale white boat splashes in the clear glassy water. Spiky mountains rise up above. Dark bushy hedges all lined up. A small skinny island rests in the water.
As I walk to the shore I hear beach waves crashing. The gentle breeze blows against the trees.
The fresh cold breeze blows against my face.
The clear glassy water flows beside me.
I taste the salty water in my mouth from the waves.
My cosy bedroom.
For writing we did a descriptive piece of writing about our bed room.
I added a few descriptive words and have changed a bit of the original story.
Down below there is my whole piece of writing.
I found putting in descriptive words and fitting them in the right place tricky.
My Cosy Bedroom
My room is fresh, warm, cosy and small. When I lie down in bed my led lights shimmer in the dark. I can feel my grey blanket softly touching me.
My big white bed is in the left far corner and my dresser is on the other side. The taste of cat fur fills my mouth. It's sometimes messy but in school weeks it's really clean. There are random things under my bed and there is cat fur everywhere.
The feeling of warmth fills me and I feel safe. I can hear quiet purrs from my cat sleeping under my bed.
It smells like dirty cat fur from my cat shredding truck loads of fur.
I think my bedroom is the smallest out of all the bedrooms in the house.
Forget researching, do an experiment!
For science we did an experiment on fossil fuels.
We had to see if oil and water mix.
The oil went on the top which means in real life animals like seals and dolphins would have to go to the surface to take a breath but the oil would be there. That is why we should use renewable energy like solar energy from the sun.
Down below there is a slide show of the experiment
I found mixing the liquids without spilling.
Have you done an experiment like this before?

slide show of Past, Present, Future
For cybersmart we were learning about how to use images labeled for reuse.
We had to make a slideshow of something people have used in the past and search for images from the same thing but what it looks like today.
Down below there is a slide show of the images I chose and you have to guess what it is.
I found cropping the images to the right shape a bit tricky.
Have you been studying the past, present, and the future?
