Air Powered Rocket Experiment

Have you ever seen a water bottle flying in the sky? We are about to do an experiment with a water bottle and a launch pad. I think the rocket will take of because there will be a lot of air inside and it will escape and fly in the air. It might do this because when we release it the air and the water will rush out creating a powerful force shooting it up in the air.

Do you know what pressure is? an aquapod is a pod that stands on three legs. two bent to the side on the back, and a leg up the front in the middle.

first you fill the bottle with one third of water and tip the pod upside down and attach the bottle to the aquapod.

After that you attach a pump to a valve and and pump it up with air. you have to pump it 8-12 times. Then the rocket has lots of air and water in it. When you pump the air into the rocket the pressure goes inside and the rocket expands.

When it is all pumped up you unwind the string to release a launch release that goes over the screw. you pull the string and the rocket blasts off! All the water and air escapes using force to boost the rocket in the air and the pressure pushes it up.
